The last year I spent it in the states .
As I was in a different country I could see the diferences between their archirecture and ours .
One of the things I observed is that almost all of them were due to the different culture and lifestyle .
For example , everyone lives in a house , in a neighborhood full of houses of the same shape and usually color .
In Spain , we normally live in flats , usually close to our school and where we can go walking … instead of by car as the americans do .
Also in the interiors I realized that the floors are covered with carpet , thing we are not used to see in spanish interiors .
This could sound weird , but one of the things that made me decide study architecture was to give me the realization that I looked a lot at the differences between the United States and Spain in terms of architecture and interior design.
Also I had the opportunity to live the life of an architect for one week .
One of the requirements for graduating in the school I was , was taking an experience related to the career you would like to study . So I chose to “work” as an architect for a week .
During this period I was suggested to build a project from the beggining . The aim was to design the facade of a new kindengarten , a real project this study had .
Some of the experiencies I could live was : assist to real meetings with clients , meetings of the team in order to build a project , visit a real building site and see everything I was told during the previous days in reality ( layers of the walls , the foundations …)
